A bit over than an hour’s drive from where you are staying lies the beautiful Guadalest Valley and its surrounding small villages. Although small in size, this area of the Alicante Province is nothing short of stunning and the perfect day excursion to head out on.

Declared an Historic-Artistic monument in the year 1974, each year seems to bring even more popularity amongst tourists hoping to wander about its attractions, take in the views and soak up the natural settings that await all who pay it a visit.

The most well-known attraction in the Guadalest Valley is its castle, El Castell de Guadalest, which quite literally hangs off of a cliff.

At the bottom before entering the castle itself, you can explore the museum at the base of the stairs and find out more information and history about it for all those hoping to gain some insight education on what makes it so special.

When you are finished taking the views and exploring the castle, head just outside of the valley into the surrounding little village towns where you can discover quaint shops and cafes with reasonably priced menus and delicious authentic foods.
